Start with an amount that fits.

Try a unit

Envelope number × unit = its amount. Use 0.01–1000.00, with a decimal point.

7–366 days, including both dates. Complete envelopes in any order.

100 envelopes. Your pace.
How units and dates work

A unit of 0.10 plans 505.00 total, with 10.00 as the largest envelope. A unit of 0.01 plans 50.50 total, with 1.00 as the largest. Currency labels amounts; it does not convert them.

The default window is 100 days. You do not need to complete exactly one envelope per day. Dates set your deadline, not what you can afford.

Changing an input or generating again clears the old grid and its marks.

No current envelope plan. Generate your grid before printing.

How does the 100 envelope challenge work?

Number 100 envelopes from 1 to 100. With a unit of 1.00, envelope 1 represents 1.00 and envelope 100 represents 100.00. You choose the order and decide when to complete them within your selected window. You can use the printable grid without buying a binder or handling cash.

How much money does the classic challenge add up to?

The numbers 1 through 100 total 5,050: 100 × 101 ÷ 2. Multiply that by your unit to get the planned total. At USD 1.00 per unit, that is USD 5,050.00, with USD 100.00 as the largest envelope.

Can I do it on a smaller budget?

Yes. Choose a smaller unit: 0.50 gives a planned total of 2,525.00 and a largest envelope of 50.00; 0.10 gives 505.00 and 10.00. The minimum unit, 0.01, gives 50.50 and 1.00. Choose amounts that fit your circumstances; a longer window changes the deadline but does not lower any envelope amount.

Can I set an exact target of 5,000?

This tool keeps each amount equal to its envelope number times one unit, with units in whole cents. It does not support arbitrary target totals. The classic plan is 5,050, not 5,000. For an exact target divided over dates, use the daily, weekly or 52-week savings calculator.

Does 100 envelopes mean 100 days?

Not necessarily. Here you choose a window of 7 to 366 days and complete the envelopes in any order. The tool does not assign one envelope to each date. It also does not support a 100-week contract, which is longer than the contract builder’s range.
